Resort Manager

Leisure resort operations

What this life looks like

You create the complete escape. Resort Managers lead the full operation of leisure resort properties — hotels, beach resorts, safari lodges, wellness retreats, and island getaways — where guests come to rest, explore, and experience something extraordinary. Unlike city hotels focused on business travellers, resorts are about total immersion in an experience, and resort managers must create environments where every element — accommodation, food, activities, service, and setting — comes together perfectly.

What she actually does

You lead all resort departments — accommodation, food and beverage, activities, spa, retail, and maintenance — managing teams across multiple service areas, overseeing the guest experience from arrival to departure, managing the resort's financial performance, developing activity and entertainment programmes, building relationships with tour operators and travel agents, managing the resort's environmental footprint, and ensuring the property's physical standard is maintained impeccably.

This sector generates significant employment and demands senior African resort management professionals with the skills to lead world-class operations.
