What this life looks like
You are the CEO of your product. Product Managers define what gets built, why, and for whom. You sit at the intersection of business, technology, and user experience, turning customer insights and business goals into product roadmaps that engineering and design teams bring to life. It is one of the most sought-after and well-paid roles in the tech industry — and African tech companies cannot hire product managers fast enough.
What she actually does
You research user needs, define product requirements, prioritise features, write user stories, work with engineers and designers in Agile sprints, analyse product metrics, conduct user interviews, manage stakeholder expectations, and drive continuous product improvement. You own the 'what' and 'why' — engineers own the 'how'.
